About Me
Hello, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Sydnee (she/her) and I am Founder of The Healing Collective, a New York-based teletherapy practice that centers creating healing opportunities for Black folks. Born and raised in Syracuse, NY, I am a licensed Psychotherapist, Therapeutic Coach, Clinical Supervisor, Trainer, and freelance Racial Equity Consultant currently living in Brooklyn, NY. I earned bachelor’s degrees from Syracuse University and my Master of Science in Social Work from the Columbia University School of Social Work. I enjoy music, cooking, traveling, belly laughs, and caring for my plants. I feel most joyful and at peace with a balance of solitude and deep connection with my family, friends, and community.
Specialties
I am passionate about engaging clients around their racial, gender, and sexual identities and specifically enjoy working with Black folks across the gender, sexuality, and size spectrums. I also have significant experience in working with adolescents and teens, and those with experiences of emotional, physical, and sexual trauma, family conflict, relationship issues, and intimate partner/gender-based violence.
Therapeutic approaches
In all that I do, I operate from a healing centered, anti-oppressive, and intersectional lens. I believe that every person is worthy of healing and that our healing comes from within. Below are some of the approaches that I bring into my healing practice:

Motivational Interviewing (MI)
